The SICS Trainees Group
The SICS Trainees Group exists to promote Intensive Care Medicine
(ICM) among trainees from all base specialties in Scotland, to
encourage education in ICM, to represent the views of Scottish
trainees with an interest in ICM, to promote trainee activity
in nationwide audit through the audit share project, and to encourage
social links between ICM trainees.
There is a steering committee
elected annually which oversees the various activities of the
group.
Activities
The group organises a popular annual
education meeting.
There are also a number of other meetings arranged each year such
as those for advanced
trainees in ICM. The group represents trainees on the SICS Council
and sub-committees, primarily the Education and SICSAG committees.
Stay in touch/get involved
If you want to be kept informed about SICS Trainees
Group activities, and matters affecting ICM interested trainees
in Scotland, join our
open-access email newsgroup. To subscribe, send an email SICS_Trainees-subscribe@yahoogroups.com from
your preferred email address, or visit http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/SICS_Trainees/ and
click on 'join this group'. Note that voting on issues affecting
the group is contingent upon membership of the SICS and we encourage
all trainees interested in ICM to join
the society.
History
The SICS Trainees Group was established in 2007. It evolved from
the Group of Intensive Care Trainees in Scotland (GITS) formed
by an enthusiastic group of advanced trainees in ICM in 2002.
