LiVe FRee Survey:  Liberating Ventilation for Patients with Respiratory Failure.

Help is needed to complete ICM research; please see the request below from the research team in Glasgow.

Dear Colleagues,

We are inviting UK ICU consultants to participate in the LiVe FRee Survey: Liberating Ventilation for Patients with Respiratory Failure. This survey, developed by researchers at the University of Glasgow, aims to capture current consultant practices in ventilation weaning and extubation, including oxygen delivery device selection and adherence to guidelines.

GPICS recommends using Standard Operating Procedures and checklists at extubation, and NAP4 advises every ICU to have clear algorithms for intubation, extubation, and re-intubation. GPICS further recommends consistent weaning practices based on structured protocols, though data on current adoption is limited.

The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete, and responses will contribute valuable insights to shape future guidelines. The survey is accessible until December 31st, 2024, via the FICM webpage or directly at the link below.

Thank you very much for your support.
