Mr Jones has been sedated and ventilated overnight. He is now settled on the following settings:

• Tidal Volume: 420 ml
• Respiratory Rate: 20/min
• FiO₂: 0.6
• PEEP: 10 cm H₂O
• I:E Ratio: 1:2

His sedation has been stopped this morning as part of the sedation break, and he is starting to wake up. The nurse wants to know what to do with the ventilator and sedative regime.
